A recent survey of HR professionals by the CIPD People Management magazine found startling revelations about the biases that HR professionals have. The survey carried out 300 online tests to measure bias in a range of common areas and the results were very surprising.
Hr professionals stated that 12% of those surveyed had a bias against disability, with a major bias (51%) against overweight women as opposed to slimmer women (4%), with men seeming to escape prejudice!
The good news was that nearly three-quarters of respondents show no bias regarding age, however when it came to unconscious associations of competence, men were the losers. Interestingly enough, only 0.5 % of women had anti-female bias, whereas 15.6 % of men showed anti-male bias.
